Are there any real reasons NOT to get a flu shot?

Myths aside, there really are very few reasons NOT to get a flu shot....The only true reasons are a SEVERE egg allergy or previous reaction to a flu shot.

Don't procrastinate on you colon cancer screening....

If you are over 50, make sure that you have been screened for colon cancer with a colonoscopy or the newer DNA fecal screening test. If you have a family history of colon cancer, this screening should begin at age 40...

Are vitamins and supplements a waste of money?

Vitamins and supplements: a billion dollar industry. If you go by scientific evidence, only fish oil (if you are on a statin and have underlying heart disease) and vitamin D (if you have documented vitamin D deficiency) have been shown to be efficacious.

Why cutting carbohydrates is so difficult

"Give a mouse a cookie, then the mouse will want a glass of milk"...... The same is true with your body and carbohydrates. Taking in just a bit of a carbohydrate will stimulate release of insulin and hence set off a craving for more sweets.
If you want to drop weight, the carbs have got to go....

Do you have enough fish in your diet? Fish is a great source of high quality protein and is a low fat, low calorie food. It is chocked full of essential nutrients, particularly omega 3 for heart health. Unfortunately, my wife has a no killing/catch and release rule for me on Green Lake.
