Hang in there! We just have to make it through to spring. Covid 19 vaccinations are being brought out and everyone should be able to be vaccinated by April. (The injection didn't even hurt) In the meantime, continue to social distance and mask up. Better times are in the future.

Stay strong! Studies are showing that the pandemic has been associated with weight gain and a decrease in exercise. Be vigilant and use these difficult times to get in shape. While you are sequestered at home, try to actually increase your exercise and improve your dietary choices.

Wearing a mask during your workout isn't so bad. You get used to it and indeed it protects you and the people around you.

Thanksgiving tips during Covid 19

Thanksgiving safety tips: Try to keep your gathering small; have your guests try to be particularly vigilant the week before they are due to visit; have your guests be tested for Covid several days before thanksgiving; weather permitting, try to keep some windows open; keep your oven and bathroom exhaust fans on; keep your masks on as much as possible. Enjoy regardless of these trying times. Happy Thanksgiving!

Masks are effective!

Masks (along with social distancing and hand washing) are effective in reducing the chances of getting Covid 19 or giving it to someone else.  It is NOT safe out there.  Be smart.  Follow the CDC guidelines.  Wear your mask; practice social distancing; stay away from large gatherings; wash your hands frequently.

Are you cleaning correctly?

Are you disinfecting your surfaces sufficiently? A quick wipe doesn't kill germs. The disinfectant must make contact with the surface for several minutes to be effective. Read the label on your disinfectant. It will state how long the disinfectant should remain on the surface before you wipe it away...

I think that this is a great guide on how to start running. Running is a great exercise! It will improve your physical as well as your mental health during these trying times. It doesn't require much time or monetary investment. Give it a try! You will feel wonderful once you are on your way.

Fight the Covid 19 weight gain! Use the shelter in place time to set up a good exercise routine as well as a daily, healthy meal plan.
Use the time spent NOT commuting to work to use. Get in shape and become a lean, mean fighting machine.

During this pandemic, let's not forget to exercise. Since we aren't travelling nearly as much, now more than ever we need to formally work out so our bodies won't expand and our mind won't congeal. Get on that home exercise bike; go take that jog outside; take the dog for his daily walk.... It will help your body and your soul get through this difficult time.

Statins are beneficial for all adult age groups

There is more evidence that statins are extremely beneficial for all adult age groups.  If your LDL is above 190 and unresponsive to diet and exercise, a statin is in your future. If you have known cardiovascular disease or diabetes, a statin is in your future regardless of your LDL.  The good news is that most of the statins are now generic and quite inexpensive.
