Whole body screening scans

Posted by Charles Waisbren on November 23, 2024 at 2:39 PM

I do like the ultrafast CT cardiac scan to give us a cardiac calcium score. It does give us a good view of cardiac risk. Otherwise, I agree with this article about the futility of screening with whole body scans.

Troubled with asthma?

Posted by Charles Waisbren on October 27, 2024 at 8:10 AM

Good luck on "natural remedies"... Asthma is a malady of bronchial inflammation.

Hair Loss

Posted by Charles Waisbren on October 11, 2024 at 4:47 PM

Sorry..... I don't believe in any of these over the counter remedies or home interventions. Most hair loss is due to genetics or recent traumatic events (like a health crisis; accident or severe emotional situation).

How to control your blood sugar

Posted by Charles Waisbren on October 05, 2024 at 11:38 AM

Seems a bit more complicated than it is...
If you don't have GLUCOSE INTOLERANCE, you don't really need to worry about sugars. Your body produces enough insulin to put any digested sugars from the blood stream into your cells.
However, if you do have glucose intolerance ("pre-diabetes"/"borderline diabetes"/diabetes) then it is important to try to limit high glycemic foods.
Eat more protein and vegetables.
Stay away from high glycemic foods (cakes, candies, pizza, oranges, grapes, etc)
