Gentleman: This Sunday is Mother's Day. Not making a big deal about it might be harmful to your health...... Your Mom as well as the mother of your children really do deserve this special day....

Trouble sleeping? Please read this article. It discusses "sleep hygiene" and the positive effects of positive sleep thoughts. Truthfully, it is helpful to reassure your awake self that all is fine and you indeed will eventually fall asleep and feel fine in the morning....

I know that it is difficult to admit to yourself that you might need medication to remain healthy. However, the consequence of NOT being compliant can be quite costly!
In the late 1960's, it was not uncommon to succumb to a heart attack when we entered our 50's. 40% of the population smoked, a cholesterol of 240 was considered normal and half of Americans had what we consider now hypertension. We are doing better today because we are concentrating on smoking cessation, controlling blood pressure, controlling cholesterol levels and keeping our blood sugars normal. Read the article below and you will better understand why I "pound" you guys on obtaining a normal blood pressure, stopping smoking, achieving a reasonable weight and normalizing your blood cholesterol and sugar.

Well, I am back! What a fantastic feeling being able to work again. Bear with my limping while I continue my physical therapy. Getting a new knee has been a bit more arduous than I anticipated. My new days and hours will be abbreviated in April (Mondays/South; Tuesdays&Thursdays/Mayfair) but hopefully I will back to full strength by May. Again, I am sorry tor all the changing of appointment days and I truly appreciate everyone's understanding.

I GOOFED!..... My new knee did NOT handle my return to work this week. It swelled up to the size of a watermelon and got so hot it fried my pant leg. I just can't return yet...... Dr. Vinodkumar Shah, the world's nicest man and a GREAT physician, will cover for me until I get cleared to go back to work by 1) my wife; 2) my orthopedist; 3) my internist; and 4) my physical therapist.(In that order). I regret to say that "my way did not work"...... I do apologize for all the rescheduling and my lack of availability. Hopefully I will be up and running in a few weeks. I appreciate your understanding and patience.

The Catholic Church and Anglican Communion have just officially declared my wife a saint (although she isn't yet deceased). Pope Francis has determined that no normal human being could have possibly put up with all the whining, whimpering and complaining that my wife has had to put up with during the last four weeks following my knee replacement surgery. (It is a well deserved honor).....

Guilty as my wife has charged: I have "bit off a bit more than I can chew". I am three weeks post total right knee replacement and have been able to see "call ins" on Tuesdays and Thursdays without too much difficulty. However, I have changed my mind about going full afternoons starting March 13..... Instead, I will go half time those afternoons. I apologize for the inconveniences of the rescheduling but I guess that I was overly optimistic. Frankly, the surgery went terrifically and everyone is happy with my progress (except me....). Sorry again for the rescheduling....
