You really should get a heart scan....

Frankly, I have been advocating these heart scans for the past 30 years. You can get a CT scan of your blood vessels leading to your heart for $49.00 cash at any Aurora imaging center. It also includes imaging of your lungs. Why not know if there are any issues, particularly if you have a history of high cholesterol, smoking, diabetes, hypertension or family history of heart disease?

Dropping Those Unwanted Pounds

As I have been incessantly saying, partaking in less calorie consumption is the only realistic way to drop those unnecessary pounds on your frame. Our bodies are wired to maintain every bit of fat that we accumulate. Exercise might help a bit but it isn't sufficient to reach our weight goals.

Is it the flu or Covid?

It is indeed difficult to differentiate between the flu and a Covid 19 infection. Both can present with nasal stuffiness, sore throat, cough, fever and diarrhea. Loss of taste and smell for sure will let you know that it is Covid. Otherwise, you really will need to be tested for Covid to rule in or out the flu/Covid 19.

Booster time! It really doesn't matter which vaccine you want to boost your immunity with. It is just about "shots in arms". All three vaccines provide extra immunity against Covid 19.

Should I Take a Daily Aspirin?

It is all about risk versus benefit. There is a small risk of aspirin causing bleeding. However, there is overwhelming evidence that aspirin helps prevent heart attacks and strokes. This study reports that if you have little RISK of having a heart attack or stroke, the risk out weighs the benefit of a daily aspirin regiment. HOWEVER, if you have known plaque in your heart or carotid arteries; had a stroke, heart attack, cardiac bypass, cardiac angioplasty or have peripheral artery disease, the BENEFIT of aspirin far out weighs the very small risk of aspirin induced bleeding.
